The client has over ten years of experience in teaching English to adults in a variety of settings, with her most recent experience spanning five years within the TAFE system. With a desire to secure permanent employment, the client was applying for a part-time position which would see her moving around numerous TAFE colleges in the Sydney region
The client had some strong teaching examples, in addition to leadership examples, however, given the nature of the position, I suggested she focus on recent leadership examples. The client had used the STAR (Situation, Task, Action and Result) format before and was familiar with the concept. Having already prepared examples she wished to include, the client explained in detail each idea, and I was able to ask questions where appropriate.
The client has extensive experience in the theatre industry and having recently completed a Bachelor of Teaching, has been working as a Casual Relief Teacher in secondary schools, with the aim of securing a full-time position as a Drama or English Teacher.
The client is about to be made redundant from a position at a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving the health of North Coast communities through quality primary health care. The roles she was applying for both involve engagement with stakeholders.
