Resume and short selection criteria for an experienced Critical Care Nurse

Home » Case Studies » Resume and short selection criteria for an experienced Critical Care Nurse

The brief from the client was to provide a rewritten and and more focused resume for the purposes or applying to seek employment before an interstate move. As an experienced ICU Registered Nurse, the client had extensive skills in ICU, including a secondment as a Clinical Facilitator providing a good base of skills to work with. The additional requirement was a short three-point selection criteria with a 500 character limit.

During the consultation, I collaborated with the client to determine key strengths and areas of focus for an ICU Nurse, as well as additional items such as duties and professional development during her secondment. For the selection criteria, the focus was on strategy to provide as much information as possible within a very small word count of 70-80 words per response.

The finalised product is a more readable and consistent resume broken up into sections to allow the hiring manager to get information in smaller chunks rather than long lists of skills or duties. With minimal editing, the document can be modified by changing the order of the positions to support applying as a ICU registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse as a position becomes available.
