Registered Nurse Resume and Cover Letter
The client was a Registered Nurse with experience post-graduation as a Practice Nurse. The position being considered for were as a Registered Nurse in a hospital-based environment to allow for the development of their practice and gain access to a greater number of employment opportunities.
The client’s resume required a comprehensive re-write and reformatting to increase the emphasis on key competencies and ensure that the employer was able to view the clients key skills and professional development before anything else. Key achievements were also integrated to the resume where possible and to allow the client to apply for graduate positions clinical placements were listed in a separate section to allow quick editing based upon the roles applied for.
The writing strategy centered on highlighting core nursing capabilities with a focus on quality nursing care, collaboration and teamwork and person-centered, evidence-based practice. The resume can be rapidly adapted to apply for other positions as can the cover letter to allow the client to utilise the same documents with minor changes to apply for Registered Nurse positions and graduate Registered Nurse positions.
