Mining Superintendent

The client had a previous resume written through Select Resumes about six years ago but wanted a full re-write to be able to focus on management roles and to update all of his skills. His previous resume was geared more toward operational roles but having had some experience as a superintendent and supervisor, the client wanted to move forward in this direction.

I pulled all the existing information out to work from, and during the consultation, we went through the different categories, to work out how better showcase his emerging leadership skills from previous roles.

The client wanted assistance in demonstrating his abilities in other areas, such as risk management and safety, as these skills are highly valued in the mining industry. I was able to weave these points throughout the resume and highlight them in the professional profile section, as well as in his key skills.

Noting that he had an extensive background as a hands-on operator, I was able to highlight this as a positive advantage – that he understood the full workings on site and could easily relate to the workers at the grassroots level. However, his subsequent training and experience in leadership roles enabled him to also liaise confidently with management, contractors and key stakeholders.

With a fresh new corporate design, the resume was re-written and updated to enable the client to take on more senior-level roles in his chosen industry.
