Business Executive – General Manager
The client was a highly experienced business executive who was looking to move into a different field. He had a vast range of skills and experience that he could offer any organisation in any industry. It was important to him that his resume reflected his versatility, rather than pigeon-holing him into the same sector he had worked within.
During the consultation, the client’s passion for his job was really clear, and it was vital that I was able to reflect this throughout his document. With the client working in customer service and business development areas, it was also important to avoid empty jargon and catch-phrases when trying to convey his passion and innovation, so that he sounded professional, and was also able to back up his claims with tangible achievements.
For each role, the client was able to provide measurable results, such as profits, customer survey results, implementation of new systems, increased efficiency, increased transparency, and cultural changes that led to accountability and compliance. These were documented under key achievements, and it was also essential to set out the size of his staff portfolio, revenue and the number of sites he worked across.
Although the client had predominantly worked in limited areas, it is hoped that by showing his exposure to many different business areas, that he is clearly capable of moving into any industry with fresh perspective and ideas.
